What is lawn bowling?

Lawn bowling is a game that is played on grass, carpet or on an artificial surface, with the purpose being to get your bowls closer to the jack than those of your opponents.  The game is commonly stereotyped as being for old people dressed in white, whereas the truth is that anybody, from ages 8 to 88 can play.
